The Boys Club lives on! The time is NOW for a shake up in gender equality!

No doubt you have seen the recent headlines around the latest data from @workplacegenderequalityagency, with those women aged 45 to 65 earning about $40,000 a year less than their male counterparts!
yesterday's article 'Mentoring Programs for women? Try pushing executive accountability instead' by @womensagenda takes a slightly different angle, however the bottom line is that CHANGE is desperately needed... NOW!

Having been a former Corporate Executive in a male dominated industry, I know too well that the "Boys Club" is ALIVE and kicking AND the time is NOW to kick it to the kerb!
This article got me so fired up, that Eric made his debut appearance!
The article shares the new research by @cheifexecutivewomen and @bainandcompany, highlighting a direct link between the best-performing companies on the ASX and gender-balanced executive leadership teams...YET the 'Boys Clubs' live on in many organisations.
It also goes on to share that mentoring programs and confidence seminars aimed at women do not make the top five key drivers of gender diversity in workplaces... so our "mate" Eric here has decided to cut the training budget. Watch out for "Erics" in your workplace as I would guess that they have missed the mark here! There is still a place for confidence building coaching and workshops!
Perhaps one of the points that "Eric" has missed is that gender balance is an organisational mindset and with the data from the 2020-21 WGEA dataset indicating that ONLY 19.4% of CEO's are women, I'd suggest that we need to hold the Eric's of the world accountable for driving a more inclusive culture.
Since becoming a mum, returning to the Corporate world for ONLY two hours and being terminated from my Corporate Executive job of almost eight years, I have decided to stand in my power and speak my truth.
Especially as women; our voices are often suppressed and we are conditioned, bullied or threatened to prevent us from speaking our truth.
